Ground Support

As a productive and proud part of the Australian and New Zealand civil engineering industry, Bluey Technologies Pty Ltd understands the importance of state-of-the-art products and expert assistance. For over a decade, we have supported a number of significant projects across the Asia-Pacific region and are proud to work with so many committed and passionate businesses during this journey.

From our work in tunnels to road construction, we have both the skills and products to add value to a project of any size. Whether this is through implementation help, general industry assistance or specific technical support, we are confident in helping your business operate within budget and meet the expectations of clients and stakeholders.

It is important to note that Bluey Technologies works hard to ensure products and techniques meet both Australian workplace health and safety legislation and environmental concerns.

One of our core areas of expertise is ground support. Read on below to find out where ground support applications can be of use and which Bluey products are best suited to these situations.

Why is ground support vital?

Across a number of different environments, the ground can become weak after being exposed to excavation, weather events, infrastructure changes, soil movements or even seismic activity. Not only can this create a risk to the general public, it can be extremely expensive to replace the entire piece of infrastructure – which is where ground support products from Bluey can be a real advantage.

With the right Bluey product, we can guarantee that regardless of the application, the ground can be supported in a safe and productive manner. We take pride in applying the correct product and are always working hard to improve our service and offerings.

Where can Bluey assist in ground support?

Our expert team can offer both advice and high-quality products related to ground support. This includes:

  • Slope Stabilisation (BluGeo GRP60)
  • Rock Bolting (BluGeo Tunnel Bolt, LP Tunnel Bolt)
  • Tunnel Support (Tunnel Bolt, LP Tunnel Bolt)
  • Settlement Prevention (BluRez CSW)
  • Strata Support (BluGeo GRP60, Tunnel Bolt)
  • Soft Eye Reinforcement (BluGeo GRP60)

Ground protection products – an overview

BluGeo GRP60

This particular Bluey product is designed to complement its BluCem grout counterparts. The glass-fibre reinforced plastic solid bar incorporates both a high load carrying capacity ground anchor and a soil nail which can add value to any stability project.

Some of the benefits of the GRP60 include:

  • Flexible
  • Strong
  • High corrosion resistance
  • Light weight
  • Easy handling
  • Can cover permanent applications

The BluGeo GRP60 is suitable for everything from systematic rock bolting and general ground support to temporary and permanent face stabilisation and slope stabilisation. Of course, it is important to consult a trained civil engineer to ensure this product is being used in the right manner.

BluGeo LP Tunnel Bolt

The other main ground support product from Bluey is the BluGeo LP Tunnel Bolt. Again, designed to be used alongside our specialised BluGeo resin capsule and BluCem grout products, the LP Tunnel Bolt can meet and exceed long-term requirements.

On a basic level, this product is a resin anchored low profile no tail tunnel bolt manufactured to assist in both temporary and permanent rock bolting in tunnels. However, it can also be applied in other civil engineering applications.

Available in a range of grades including double corrosion protected, black, galvanised and stainless steel, there are few similar products on the market that can do a better job when it comes to ground support.
